Fight Hunger Foundation, an Indian not-for-profit, promotes community-based approaches for the management of acute malnutrition. We take decisive action against the causes and effects of acute malnutrition in children below 5.
We work in the regions of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi and Maharashtra by identifying and diagnosing the most affected children and treat them using therapeutic food and micronutrients. Locally-trained community workers then follow up with home visits to ensure children remain healthy. Pregnant women and young mothers are educated on the importance of varied nutrition, based on affordable local items. We undertake awareness campaigns in communities to increase understanding of undernutrition and to promote implementation of nutrition policies at local and national government levels.
